About VHF
The Van Hook Foundation was inspired by photographer and writer, Ginger Van Hook, as a means to continue her work, to serve and promote local artists in her community. Ginger, together with her husband, fine art painter, Luke Van Hook, have been supporting the fine arts in the Los Angeles and surrounding communities of California since 2002.
Ginger Van Hook began her career as a photojournalist while still completing her master’s degree at Otis College of Art and Design. She graduated in 2004 after writing her first novel, “The Kingdom of Nuts and Bolts” and a collection of books of poetry. At first she started a journal blog titled “Ginger’s Art Journal” with her first post dated Tuesday, August 21, 2007.
She continued writing and photographing. Later she added public curatorial projects and
video clips to her columns in subsequent blogs, video journals and documentary art movies.
Ginger Van Hook continues her commitment to Education with her alma mater, Otis College of Art and Design
while she’s been teaching color photography in the Continuing Education department since 2008.
To organize her artists' stories along communities of her local travels she created a blog series titled Fine Art Trekkin’.
